Mark Wayne can deliver the voice you’ve been searching for!
Mark Wayne is a voice actor residing in the greater Washington, DC area. (Don’t get him started on the “joys” of I-95 traffic!)
After several years in the design/engineering and construction industry – including leadership roles that required him to deliver frequent presentations and speaking engagements – Mark took a leap of faith and dove headstrong into the exciting world of voice acting. His rich and diverse background as a Mechanical Engineer, Construction Manager and Program/Project Manager (he has two (2) engineering degrees from West Virginia University) working in demanding technical fields (semiconductors and other advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, military facilities, higher education, etc.) gives him an ideal background for voicing demanding and complicated scripts with confidence, believability and authenticity. He also has a “soft side” that allows him to come across as gentle and endearing.
As a hobby, Mark also uses his voice as a sportscaster, with over eighty-five (85) high school state championship game play-by-play calls to his credit – across nine (9) different sports – on the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Network. He has also worked for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Network as a sportscaster. (If play-by-play talent scouts from ESPN are reading this, he’s eagerly waiting your call!)
He is married and has two (2) children – one now residing in Heaven. His other hobbies include golfing (he prides himself on being the world’s mediocre-est golfer), kayaking (he’s only capsized a few times) and accompanying his lovely bride on outdoor photography outings (where she takes the photos and he helps in spotting wildlife and other great things she can photograph). He also enjoys traveling, snorkeling, going to his beloved college alma mater’s football games and, of course, getting in the studio and helping clients reach their audiences in effective and memorable ways.
Style
Mark has a down-to-Earth, pleasant, “guy next door” kind of voice. You can easily picture him taking a break while mowing the grass, leaning on the fence, talking to his next-door neighbor about last Saturday’s game. He can voice scripts in an authentic, engaging, and persuasive manner that grabs the listener’s attention. He can deliver voices in the 30-60 years old age range. His natural voice is that of a baritone flavor (although he sings bass in the church choir). While his voice is natural and pleasant he can also turn on the authoritative/command presence (i.e., “Voice of God”) style of delivery, when needed. Whether your target audience is a small group of e-learners grasping how to operate/maintain a new piece of equipment or an advertisement for a nationwide prime-time television audience, Mark can quickly meet and gain the trust of your targeted audience on their level.
Genres
Mark can provide the voice talent needed for almost any project in any genre of the voiceover industry, including commercials, corporate narration, e-learning, explainer videos, medical narration, IVR/telephony, and character voices. He specializes in the corporate narration/explainer/e-learning genres. He knows how the business world works and usually has a good sense for what companies want to achieve via their creative departments/professionals.
The Production Center
Mark’s studio is located in his home’s basement (known in his household as “the bunker”, where no one dares to tread!). It is capable of connecting via ipDTL, Source Connect and Zoom. Audio files are created and edited using Adobe Audition to each client’s specific technical specifications.
